Early music ensemble
      SONORITÀ

Its name, derived from the Italian word for sonority, points towards the origins of the ensemble: in 2016, five musicians from five different countries and cultures - Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, Spain and Germany - joined during their studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland in a quest to bring a rich, colourful and lively performance to the public.

They specialise in instrumental music of the 17th and 18th centuries, bringing a fresh perspective to the repertoire with their own arrangements and improvisations. Sonorità has given concerts in Switzerland, Germany, France and Luxembourg. The ensemble’s performances have led them to receive prizes such as the Audience Award and the Second Prize at the 19th Biagio Marini Competition in Neuburg an der Donau, as well as the 1st prize in the 40th Music Competition of the International Lyceum Club of Switzerland, in Lausanne.

In 2022 Sonorità released their debut album, “A Bird Fancyer’s Delight” with Ars Production.
